This module focuses on test-taking strategies, such as looking for key words and utilizing priority strategies. This is not a quick assurance of success on the certification exam, but a way to determine what the question is asking. The test taker must still have the knowledge to answer the question correctly, but these tips will assist in decreasing the anxiety of taking this type of test.

This module, compiled specifically for the Advanced Practice Nurse taking the NNCC certification exam, will be an in-depth review of the causes, progression, lab values, and symptoms that the person developing CKD may experience. We discuss the considerations regarding the CNN-NP examination, go over key concepts, such as kidney biopsy and treatment therapies, and discuss the top three causes of CKD/ESKD: diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and glomerulonephritis. The role and the interventions necessary of the APN are the focus of this module.
