Learning Outcomes:

Advanced practice nephrology nurses will describe an increased confidence in prescribing and evaluating the effectiveness of medications used for the treatment of hyperkalemia in their patients.

Nephrology nurses will relate the assessments of patients requiring pharmaceutical treatment for hyperkalemia to include the desired outcome, the potential side effects, and the education to be provided to patients.
