This workshop focuses on safety issues and concerns encountered by nephrology nurse leaders, whether serving in formal or informal leadership roles. Topics include developing and maintaining a culture of safety; protecting patients and staff, including emergency preparedness; workplace violence and strategies to de-escalate potentially violent encounters; what to do when safety protocols fail; and how leaders can assist with recovery if a critical event occurs.
