Nephrology patients may experience various skin issues that cause discomfort. This workshop begins with a review of the skin-kidney connection with tips for conducting a systematic skin assessment for individuals with chronic kidney disease. The potential impact of immunosuppression and medications on skin integrity, considerations for patients with tattoos, management of skin conditions such as pruritus and calciphylaxis, and wound care are covered in this comprehensive workshop.
