Dr. Amber Paulus s a registered nurse, certified professional in healthcare quality and patient safety. She currently serves as a Senior Director, Value Based Care for Kidneylink where she strives to effectively leverage policy to bring about meaningful transformation in kidney care through data-driven approaches that impact kidney health and optimal outcomes. Throughout her career, she has served in diverse roles ranging from direct patient care, academia, and leading clinical teams. She spent a significant portion of her nephrology career leading quality improvement projects and managing data analytics for ESRD Networks that aim to serve Medicare beneficiaries receiving dialysis. She strongly believes in the significance of generating evidence that directly impacts clinical care and reduces the timeline for translating research findings into practical applications.
Dr. Paulus has contributed extensively to the field of nephrology nursing. She has served as section editor and author for the Core Curriculum for Nephrology Nursing and chapter editor and author for the Contemporary Nephrology Nursing texts. She has served in various roles in the American Nephrology Nursing Association (ANNA) including Old Dominion Chapter president and Chapter treasurer, and currently chapter secretary. She is also a previous member and chair of the ANNA Research Committee, and current member and chair designee of the ANNA leadership committee.
