The Human Genome Project illuminated the connection between genes and how our bodies work. This workshop focuses on the genetic basis for two common comorbidities in patients with chronic kidney disease — diabetes and hypertension. Attendees explore how genetics may affect the development of and complications associated with hypertension and diabetes as well as treatment plans.
