Nurse Practitioner and Assistant Research Professor at GWU and Executive Director, Coalition for Supportive Care of Kidney Patients

Christine Corbett, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, CNN-NP, FNKF is the newly appointed Assistant Research Professor at GWU and Executive Director for the Coalition for Supportive Care of Kidney Patients.

Dr. Corbett has over 24 years of nephrology experience and three years of experience in Palliative Care. Her doctoral focus was shared decision-making, advance care planning and appropriate palliative care referral for select patients with chronic kidney disease. In the past four years she developed, implemented, and managed the Comprehensive Conservative Kidney Care Clinic for patients who choose to forego dialysis. Efforts for national kidney palliative care program dissemination occur through the Coalition for Supportive Care of Kidney Patients and their Pathways Program, a collaborative with Rogosin Kidney Institute (Kidney SCHOLAR) and numerous presentations and publications.

She is involved and engaged in the Hospice and Palliative Care Nurses Association, the Association of MO NPs, the American Nephrology Nurses Association, currently a Conferences Committee Member and recent local Heart of America President-Elect, and serves as a NKF Medical Advisory Board member, Fellow, Renal Roundtable Committee member, and the 2019-2021 Executive Council for Advanced Practitioners - Publication Chair.

In her spare time, Dr. Corbett enjoys spending time with her family horse riding, traveling, hiking, reading, and volunteering with equine assisted services.
