David M. Spiegel, MD, is a professor of medicine at the University of Colorado Denver. He received his medical degree from Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Spiegel completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Illinois where he also served as chief medical resident in internal medicine. He completed his nephrology fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Spiegel is currently the director of the End Stage Kidney Disease Program for the Renal Division at the University of Colorado and medical director for 2 hemodialysis facilities. Dr. Spiegel has published more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals and has written several book chapters. In addition, he is involved in the ongoing teaching programs at the University of Colorado. Dr. Spiegel is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the National Kidney Foundation, the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research, the American Society of Nephrology, and the International Society of Nephrology.
