This module, compiled specifically for the Advanced Practice Nurse taking the NNCC certification exam, will be an in-depth review of the causes, progression, lab values, and symptoms that the person developing CKD may experience. We discuss the considerations regarding the CNN-NP examination, go over key concepts, such as kidney biopsy and treatment therapies, and discuss the top three causes of CKD/ESKD: diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and glomerulonephritis. The role and the interventions necessary of the APN are the focus of this module.
