This presentation is designed to help non-nephrology nurses, who are caring for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in other settings, learn more about the disease and its therapies. We give an overview of home dialysis that is primarily self-managed by patients but also involves family and other caregivers.
Learning Outcome: After completing this education activity, the learner will be able to outline the self-care that the nurse needs to teach the outpatient HD patient and family, and discuss assisted peritoneal dialysis.
