What are the options for individuals who are difficult to match for transplant? This session explores the factors that indicate a need for novel transplantation strategies in individuals who have proven to be difficult to transplant while also reducing the mortality and the morbidity in these patients. The basic principles and practices involved in positive crossmatch transplantation as well as changes that have occurred in this practice over the last 10 years are discussed.
