Stage 1 & 2 Chronic Kidney Disease

This module is part of a continuing education series the American Nephrology Nurses' Association (ANNA) to support the learning needs of nurses who care for nephrology patients in alternative settings.


At the completion of this module the learner will be able to:

  1. Identify the differences between Stages 1 and 2 of CKD
  2. Discuss the prevalence of Stages 1 and 2 of CKD
  3. Identify key assessment areas for CKD Stages 1 and 2 patients
  4. Identify potential problems causes the CKD Stage 1 or 2 patient can encounter and preventative measures to minimize those problems
  5. Describe the types and rationale for medications used.
