Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease - Hemodialysis in the Long Term Care Setting
This module is part of a continuing education series the American Nephrology Nurses' Association (ANNA) to support the learning needs of nurses who care for nephrology patients in alternative settings.
At the completion of this module the learner will be able to:
Discuss the components needed for hemodialysis.
Identify key assessment areas for the dialysis patient.
Identify potential problems and causes the dialysis patient can encounter between treatments, and preventative measures the LTC practitioner can utilize to minimize those problems.
Describe the different types of vascular accesses used.
