Results of the ANNA Research Study and the Evidence-Based Decision-Making Process: Perceptions of Patients and Hemodialysis Catheter Outcomes with No Dressing Coverage and Prescribed Showering
Catheter-related blood stream infections (CRBSIs) are a major cause of patient mortality. This clinical study followed 39 hemodialysis patients over 6 months, and findings on hospital admission rates, inpatient length of stay, and reduction in the number of CRBSIs are presented. The results complement an evidence-based approach to patient care. The research process, the qualitative and quantitative data, as well as the research outcomes are analyzed.
