Objectives: - Relate desired patient outcomes in ESRD patients to the use of longer-acting erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs) to manage hemoglobin variability.
- Discuss the need for effective nursing knowledge and skills to participate in the care of patients receiving longer acting ESAs.
- Analyze the potential impact of effective nursing assessment and interventions on unit and patient factors that are known to impact the implementation of longer-acting ESAs.
