Susan was born and raised in Southern California and did her undergraduate studies in Nutrition at the University of California at Berkeley. She started her career as a dietitian on the diabetes wing of a hospital and has loved the practice ever since. While working in Public Health, she contributed to a bilingual/bicultural cookbook for Diabetes, and she was a spokesperson for the Spanish language "5-a-Day" campaign to promote fruit and vegetable consumption, doing radio and television spots. Susan moved to Texas in 1999, where she worked in Diabetes and then at a dialysis center for 5 years. This year she completed her masters degree in Business & Human Relations, from Amberton University, and she currently works for Pentec Health, providing nutrition support to dialysis centers.
