Goal: To summarize the findings in the literat u re concerning thirst, interdialytic weight gain and thrist-interventions in hemodialysis patients.

Objectives:

Identify why thirst is a difficult concept to measure and study.
Describe the relationship between thirst and interdialytic weight gain in hemodialysis patients.
Discuss the three interventions presented to treat thirst in the hemodialysis population.
