Goal: To provide information about the significance and treatment of depression in patients with chronic kidney disease.

Objectives:

Review the epidemiology of depression in patients with CKD.
Relate the significance of depression in patients with CKD to the effect on nursing care.
Discuss the pharmacologic therapeutics used in the treatment of depression in patients with CKD.
