James A. Tumlin MD

Dr. James Tumlin received his medical degree from the University of South Florida. He then continued his postgraduate training in Internal medicine, Clinical nephrology and Research nephrology at Emory University in Atlanta GA. In 1992, he appointed to the Emory Faculty and is currently a Professor Medicine and Nephrology. Dr. Tumlin is an internationally recognized clinical and translational trialist. He has performed studies in a broad range of nephrology related topics including acute kidney injury (AKI), Sepsis and ICU medicine as well as all forms of glomerular disease. Dr. Tumlin is currently a Professor of Medicine at Emory University and has authored over 100 peer reviewed manuscripts. He is on editorial review boards for C-JASN, Kidney International, American Journal of Kidney Disease, American Journal of Physiology and Critical Care Medicine

In 2008, Dr. Tumlin created the NephroNet Clinical Trials Consortium; a non-profit organization designed to bridge the gap between the Pharmaceutical Industry, University Research centers and community based clinical investigators. He is also a widely sought after consultant for large and small biotech companies.
