Deuzimar Kulawik directs the Quality Improvement Department for FMQAI: The Florida ESRD Network and provide oversight and leadership for the CMS-QIO-CKD project. Ms. Kulawik has presented for numerous local, state and national renal professional groups. Ms. Kulawik was the only nephrology nurse to speak at the American Society of Nephrology - ASN Renal week 2009. She is an author for one of the chapters of the 2009 ANNA CQI Application Book and an article on catheter reduction on the medical journal "Seminar in Dialysis". Additionally, she has a few articles "in press" on "Antimicrobial Locking Solutions for Dialysis Catheters" and "Nurse Administrators & Critical Thinking". She has been involved with the American Nephrology Nurses Association, currently serves as the Chair of the Administrative SIG and member of the committee for the edition of the "Nephrology Nursing Standards of Performance and Guidelines for Care". Her 17 years of experience in the Nephrology field includes positions in the Clinical Management, Education and Quality Improvement areas. During that time she received numerous awards for outstanding performance and leadership. Ms. Kulawik holds a Master Degree in Nursing and currently under a PhD program at UNIVERSITY OF South Florida.
