Carol Ballew MSN, ACNP-BC, CCTC, CHFN

Carol Ballew is an acute care nurse practitioner working with advanced heart failure patients since 1991. She began working at the bedside with patients in the intensive care following cardiac surgery. In 1993 she began managing heart failure patients being evaluated and undergoing heart transplant surgery. It was in 1996, with the first FDA approved left ventricular assist devices for patients waiting for cardiac transplant, that she added LVAD coordinator to her role. She began managing patients as an acute care nurse practitioner in 2001. She continues to work with this challenging population and exciting technology which is evolving at an amazing pace.
