Dr. Beth Ulrich is a professor of nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) School of Nursing at Galveston, teaching in the DNP Program, and Editor-in-Chief of the Nephrology Nursing Journal. She is a Past-President of ANNA. Dr. Ulrich is a nationally recognized expert in the development, support, and use of preceptors. Her book Mastering Precepting (first published in 2012) has been awarded two AJN Book of the Year awards. The Ulrich Precepting model is used by numerous organizations and state healthcare associations as the basis for developing preceptor training.
