Goal: To discuss the utilization of continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) in the treatment of acute renal failure.

Objectives:

  1. Describe the one difference between continuous arteriovenous hemofiltration (CAVH) and continuous venovenous hemofiltration (CVVH) therapy.
  2. Discuss two common indications for CRRT therapy.
  3. Identify 3 approaches to initiating a successful CRRT program.
