Goal: Use the ANNA Standards and Practice Guidelines to identify strategies to reduce cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Objectives:

  1. Discuss the definition of CKD and identify the stages of CKD based on estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR).
  2. List the risk factors for progression of CKD and development of cardiovascular disease (CVD).
  3. Identify steps in modifying a patient's cardiovascular risk from hypertension using the ANNA' Standards and Practice Guidelines to improve care.
