Goal: To provide an overview of resource utilization and multidisciplinary team collaborations in renal replacement therapy in intensive care units.

Objectives:

  1. Explain the differences between a intensivist-led, nephrologist-led, and mixed RRT delivery model.
  2. Discuss the two different types of ICU organizational models.
  3. Explain the impact ICU organization, staffing ratio, delivery model, and RRT type may have on patient survival.
