I enjoyed this article on observation of the hemodialysis patients. I too have observed common factors in the dialysis patients at my workplace. Yes, most patients at the clinic want to be on the first shift because dialysis to them often interferes with their life activities. However, coming to dialysis has become a place of socialization where often conversations about family, friends, social events and past life experiences is the topic of the day for the patients. Most of the patients have develop their on social group and often get upset if it is changed. Yes, I often here the patients say that a peace of mind is more important to them since being diagnose with ESRD and to them transplant is just a temporary option.
This is truly another aspect to include in daily plans of care.
This article was very informative and I can understand how patients are able to feel more comfortable with having the right mindset. So I can see how psychological well being would override physical well being. Enjoyed this Article!
This is real life experience with patient on Hemodialysis.
Hemodialysis is like a burden / like it says in the article hemodialysis interrupts life as "work".
good article.
good
I have noticed that women are more accepting and tend to deal with the disease process better than the men. However , with education and support to approach the process as a part-time job it tends to be more acceptable to the clients.
Excellent article on spirituality
