Amy Woodard lives in Apex, NC and is a kidney transplant coordinator at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC. She is a graduate of the East Carolina University School of Nursing. She has worked for UNC Transplant since 2001. Her transplant experience includes working with pre-transplant patients, helping them through the transplant evaluation process, and beginning in 2013, her role focuses primarily with living kidney donors and UNC’s kidney paired donation program. Her background also includes five years as a hemodialysis nurse.
With the exception of her first year out of nursing school, her entire career has been dedicated to the care of nephrology patients. She has given several presentations to nephrology staff and patients throughout NC. She is an active member of the American Nephrology Nurses Association, with experience as a Cardinal Chapter officer and a member of the ANNA Conference Planning Committee. She is a certified nephrology nurse, a certified Transplant Coordinator, and is the new Transplant SPN leader for ANNA.
