Beth A. Brooks PhD, RN, FACHE

Dr. Brooks is an accomplished health care executive who has a unique blend of leadership experiences from three distinct sectors of the health care industry: for-profit companies (tech start-up, global advertising agency, nurse staffing agency), academic administration, and nursing operations within health care systems. Nationally, she serves on four journal editorial boards, two journal review panels and a number of advisory and governing boards. She is an internationally recognized expert in quality of nursing work life, having designed a questionnaire that has been used in 33 countries and translated into 9 languages.

Sought out to turn around struggling organizations, Brooks has impacted hospitals, academia, for-profit businesses, boardrooms and professional associations. As the immediate past President of Resurrection University, the university tripled in size and yielded consecutive robust positive operating margins, all while maintaining excellent student and employee outcomes. While President, Brooks testified before the City of Chicago’s Community Development Commission and the City Council’s Finance Committee, securing $3.4 million in Tax Increment Financing (TIF) funds for the University. Brooks' tenure at a state nursing association resulted in a net operating profit margin of 18%, quadrupled revenue and a 25% increase in membership.

Dr. Brooks received the Graduate Teaching Award for the College of Nursing at the University of Illinios at Chicago in 2010, was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Fellow in the 2012-2015 cohort, and received the American Organization of Nurse Executives’s Mentor Award in 2017.
