Dr. Laird is an Acute Care and Oncology Hematology certified nurse practitioner with over 20 years clinical experience in the inpatient and clinic setting. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington where she teaches Pharmacology. She has also taught Advanced Assessment and Diagnostic Reasoning in the Nurse Practitioner program. She volunteers as a nurse practitioner at a free clinic treating the uninsured and undocumented.
Dr. Laird is originally from Australia but has practiced in the U.K., Germany, and has been in the US since 1974. She is married and has 2 grown sons and three beautiful grand children. Her younger son is a transplant nurse and works for Life Gift.
