Kim Deaver BSN, RN, CNN

Kim Deaver is the Vascular Access Coordinator for the University of Virginia. She has 23 years associated with Nephrology Nursing. Kim has worked many areas of nephrology nursing including peritoneal dialysis, the acute dialysis setting, CKD clinics, and chronic out-patient and home hemodialysis. Her present passion is vascular access management, education, and development of vascular programs.

Kim has a wide range of experiences in vascular access education and training. Her national commitments include being a member of the Mid-Atlantic Renal Coalition (MARC) Network 5 Vascular Board. Kim is also a commissioner on the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC), and chairman of the NNCC CNN test committee. She is locally involved as chair of several hospital vascular committee meetings that involve surgeons, radiologists, multiple dialysis facilities, and nephrologists.

Kim has presented information about vascular accesses and vascular programs over the last couple years for Mid-Atlantic Renal Coalition Network 5, Virginia National Kidney Foundation, and the University of Virginia.

Kim volunteers in her community with the KEEP programs and is financial chair of her church organization. She enjoys time with her children and grandchildren in the mountains of Virginia.
