David F. Walz holds bachelor degrees in both Nursing and Elementary Education along with a Masters in Business Administration. Dave has held a national certification in Certified Nephrology Nursing (CNN) for twenty years and has been a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) for five years. Dave has been involved in both operations and business development within dialysis for over twenty-four years. He currently is consulting in the dialysis arena, helping hospitals insource their acute dialysis versus outsourcing those services. He is also the senior director for the Family Birthing Section, which includes neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), Perinatology, obstetrics / gynecology (OBGYN), Women’s Health, reproductive medicine and the family birthing center. Dave was the director over the CentraCare Kidney Program located in Central Minnesota for nearly ten years, where he tripled the size of home therapies (peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis), started the in-center nocturnal program, expanded the outpatient facilities by four locations, and started the first staff-assisted home hemodialysis in a nursing home in the Midwest. Dave has been involved in the dialysis industry professionally being involved in the American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA) since 1997, is a past national treasurer, and previously held many leadership positions at the local chapter level including president, vice president, treasurer, education committee member, and health policy representative. He has served on the executive board for the Midwest Kidney Network 11 since 2011. Dave was also inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International in 2013.
