Catherine Wells is an experienced and certified Acute Care and Nephrology Nurse Practitioner. During her career she has covered the spectrum of Nephrology patient care including inpatient and outpatient renal replacement therapies, initial and follow-up clinics, quality improvement, administration of ESRD facilities, Nephrology advanced practitice provider (APP) leadership, and development of Nephrology APP services.
Catherine has a Master’s in Nursing from The University of Mississippi Medical Center; educated as and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Nephrology subspecialty through Vanderbilt University. In 2010 she earned a Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of South Alabama.
Catherine's current clinical focus is acute kidney injury (AKI) treatment and follow-up. She manages the Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) program at the University of MS Medical Center, and supports advanced use of renal replacement therapies in high acuity patients. She is also the lead APP for both Neprhology and the Department of Medicine.
