Jan Colwell has practiced as a WOC nurse for over 30 years. She works at the University of Chicago Medical Center and has both an inpatient and outpatient practice as an advanced practice nurse. She has multiple publications in the area of wound and ostomy care as well as has coauthored a text book on ostomy patient management. She is a past president of the WOCN® Society, is the ostomy section editor of the Journal of Wound Ostomy and Continence Nursing and is a member of the WOCN® National Conference Planning Committee. She has lectured extensively in the area of ostomy care most recently speaking at the Saudi Arabia Colorectal Conference on management aspects of the patient with a fecal stoma.
