Dr. Csaba Kovesdy is the Fred Hatch professor of medicine in nephrology, director of the Clinical Outcomes and Clinical Trials Program in Nephrology and medical director of the Clinical Trials Unit at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, and chief of nephrology at the Memphis VA Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Kovesdy earned his medical degree Summa cum Laude from the University of Pecs Medical School in Pecs, Hungary. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and a clinical fellowship in Nephrology at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Kovesdy’s research interests are centered on disease mechanisms and outcomes of patients with pre-dialysis chronic kidney disease and ESRD. His research involves clinical trials, observational analyses of large administrative databases and translational research experiments in patients with all stages of kidney disease. He has published his research in over 600 peer-reviewed articles, as well as numerous abstracts and book chapters. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, and a member of the European Renal Association – European Dialysis and Transplant Association, the International Society of Nephrology and the International Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism.
