JoAnn Morey is a transplant coordinator and nurse practitioner at Boston Children's Hospital. She has worked at Boston Children's Hospital for 18 years and has been with the transplant team for 6+ years. She continues to be very involved in several QI initiatives in nephrology as well as the transplant center. She has had a pivotal role in establishing a care model to obtain 24 blood pressure monitoring and echocardiograms on all post-transplant patients to ensure better blood pressure control as a standard of care. She is a strong advocate for developing individualized patient immunosuppression plans to improve non adherence in the adolescent population, as well as establishing relationships with the adult transplant team in the Boston area to ensure more successful transition outcomes for young adult patients. She is an active team member of Improving Renal Outcomes Collaborative (IROC) as well as a member of the International Pediatric Transplant Association (IPTA) outreach committee. She is currently completing her term as the UNOS Region 1 representative on the transplant coordinator committee.
