Tanya Scott is a director of patient services at Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston, Texas, where she oversees Dialysis and Apheresis Services. She has more than a decade of experience in nephrology nursing and has cared for patients across the kidney disease continuum. Her areas of expertise include hemodialysis (home, chronic, and acute settings), leadership, quality, and education. Tanya holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Nursing Education. Tanya has been involved in ANNA since 2014 and is the current National Secretary on the Board of Directors. She previously held many leadership positions at the local chapter level, including vice-president, secretary, civic/community chair, and most recently, the president of the Gulf Coast Chapter. Tanya served as a peer reviewer of Professional Issues in ANNA’s Core Curriculum for Nephrology Nursing, 7th ed. In addition to her service to ANNA, she remains active in other professional organizations, including Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, American Nurses Association, Texas Nurses Association, Association for Nursing Professional Development, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and the Association for Vascular Access.
