Lisa McGonigal MD, MPH

Dr. Lisa McGonigal is an experienced preventive medicine and public health physician with a diverse clinical and policy background. Dr. McGonigal serves as director of healthcare quality at Kidney Care Partners (KCP), where she oversees healthcare quality-related initiatives focused on the development and implementation of policies to improve the quality of care for individuals living with chronic kidney disease. She also directs KCP’s Kidney Care Quality Alliance (KCQA), a nonprofit alliance of kidney care stakeholders organized to improve healthcare quality and create performance measures for use in the dialysis care setting. She has fifteen years’ experience leading this large, multi-stakeholder coalition in the development of ESRD quality metrics addressing a variety of topic areas, including patient-reported outcomes, vascular access, medication management, mortality reduction, transplants, and home dialysis. Dr. McGonigal also serves as KCP’s clinical and policy liaison to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the National Quality Forum, and other organizations on performance measure-related issues.
