Matthew Cooper MD

Dr. Matthew Cooper is the Chief of Transplantation and a Professor of Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He has been a clinical transplant surgeon for over 20 years. Dr. Cooper has been a volunteer at UNOS beginning in 2005 with a selection as a Member-at-Large on the Living Donor Committee and has help other positions at the organization including a Vice-Chair of the Membership and Professional Affairs Committee, a Regional Councilor, member of the Policy Oversight Committee, Chair of the Ad Hoc Systems Performance Committee and a member of the Board of Directors. In 2021, he was elected as President of the OPTN/UNOS Board of Directors and currently functions as Past President and member of the Executive Committee, the Nominating Committee, and the Corporate Affairs Committee. With an ongoing role in UNOS leadership, Dr. Cooper is most appropriate to share the past, present and future of UNOS.
