Dr. Tara Millson is the director of infection prevention at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. Dr. Millson has extensive clinical experience in nursing and infection prevention for a health system in New York and at the Veterans Health Administration in DC, as well as experience in public health surveillance at the CDC in Atlanta, GA. She is active with several professional organizations, serving as vice chair for the Practice Guidance Committee of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), and serving on the Guidelines Committee of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA). Dr. Millson was certified in infection control in 2016, earned a Doctorate in Nursing Practice in Infection Prevention from Loyola University Chicago in 2018, and was named a Fellow of APIC in 2020. She has presented at numerous regional, state, and national conferences and is a published author in the field.
