This presentation is designed to help all health care professionals who give care to patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and want to know more about late stage kidney disease and the treatment options for kidney failure. When patients have advanced CKD, they are faced with multiple decisions regarding their treatment options and lifestyle changes. It is common for them to be overwhelmed by the decisions they will need to make. This presentation will help health care professionals with patient education and preparation for kidney failure.
Learning Outcome: After completing this education activity, the learner will be able to describe the causes, pathology involved, and the goals of treatment plans for patients experiencing CKD stages 4-5.
