This module is part of a continuing education series the American Nephrology Nurses' Association (ANNA) to support the learning needs of nurses who care for nephrology patients in alternative settings.


At the completion of this module the learner will be able to:


  1. Identify the 5 different stages of CKD.

  2. Discuss the components needed for CKD patient education.

  3. Identify key assessment areas for early intervention in CKD.

  4. Identify potential problems and causes the CKD patient can encounter methods to minimize those problems.

  5. Describe the different patient education principles.
