Objectives:
• Describe the anatomy and physiology of the hepatic system
• Compare and contrast the types of hepatitis seen in the patient with CKD.
• Describe expected disease progression in the various types of hepatitis
• Outline the differential diagnosis, work up and monitoring of the CKD patient with hepatitis
• List pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions in the care of the patient with hepatitis
• Outline the specifics of hepatitis treatment and management in relationship to the patient with CKD including dialysis and transplantation.
• Illustrate an innovative plan of care for the management of hepatitis.
