  1. Define classification of chronic kidney disease (CKD) according to the current nephrology guidelines.
  2. Identify persons at risk for CKD.
  3. Formulate diagnostic strategies for all stages of CKD.
  4. Describe clinical actions that may delay progression of CKD and estimate progression.
  5. Diagnose and treat comorbid conditions and complications that commonly occur.
  6. Educate and prepare patients for kidney replacement therapy, as appropriate.
