National Symposium 2008

Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS): Tracking an Epidemic of E-coli Poisoning

Apr 28, 2008 1:30pm ‐ Apr 28, 2008 2:45pm

Standard: $25.00
Members: $15.00

Description

An outbreak of hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) occurred in the northwest United States following the use of contaminated meat by a nationwide fast food chain. Ms. McAfee will share information about children with HUS who were cared for in her facility and the treatments used to save these children. A long-term study on these children has been conducted, and Ms. McAfee will share that information as well. As we have had many recent instances of meat being recalled because of contamination, this type of case may well be repeated in your own facility, so come and learn from our colleague's experience.
