Fall Meeting 2011

Making the Transition as a New APN into Nephrology Practice: Diabetes

Sep 23, 2011 8:30am ‐ Sep 23, 2011 10:00am

Description

It is not uncommon for advanced practice nurses (APNs) to enter nephrology nursing practice without a solid foundation in nephrology nursing. Whether the focus for the advanced degree was family, adult, or pediatric nursing practice, an-depth knowledge of the specialty of nephrology nursing is often missing. This workshop assists APNs in bridging the gap between their advanced practice experience and the realm of nephrology nursing. The course focuses on the pharmacologic management of patients in various stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD) as well as the various treatment modalities for CKD. This information-packed workshop is invaluable to APNs who are new to, or considering entering, nephrology nursing.
