This session addresses the management of complex hypertension. Etiology, evaluations, treatment, and desired outcomes are the focus as we explore this complex and challenging complication. Case study presentations are used to demonstrate patient care.

The pathophysiology of renal cell carcinoma and diagnostic tools open this session. Grading, the respective treatment based on the grading of cancer, and potential for transplantation in patients with renal cell carcinoma are addressed.

Calciphylaxis is not uncommon in individuals with kidney disease. Review the incidence, prevalence, risk factors, and diagnostic criteria for calciphylaxis. Discussion covers skin lesions in calciphylaxis and emerging treatment options to halt the disease’s progression.
