Module 1: Introduction to Chronic Kidney Disease: An Overview of Causes,
Stages, and Treatment. (Processing fees apply for CNE evaluations for
the other six modules.)
These educational modules - Chronic Kidney Disease: What Every Nurse Caring for the CKD Patient Should Know
- are designed to support the learning needs of nurses who care for
nephrology patients in alternative settings. The modules address the
nursing care needs of the chronic kidney disease (CKD) patient in
settings outside of nephrology or dialysis. Given the magnitude of the
population afflicted with CKD and the variety of settings in which these
patients are found, this series will benefit nurses caring for
nephrology patients in many settings.
The CKD modules have been made possible by a generous grant to ANNA for their production and promotion by the Institute for Clinical Excellence, Education, and Research (ICEER). The modules are dedicated to the memory of ICEER's creator and president, the late Sally Burrows-Hudson, MSN, RN, CNN. Sally served ANNA in many roles, including as 1990-1991 President. She was a tireless advocate and a fierce proponent of education for all nurses.
