Goal: Describe the complications of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in affected children and emphasize the importance of early and optimal medical management to improve treatment outcomes.

Objectives:
  1. Identify the primary etiologies of CKD in children.
  2. Describe the physiologic and metabolic changes that affect growth and development in children with CKD.
  3. Discuss recommendations for evaluation, assessment, and treatment of children with growth failure related to CKD.
