Tamara M. Kear PhD, RN, CNN, FAAN

Dr. Tamara Kear is an associate professor at Villanova University and the executive director for the American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA). She was the 2019 National President for the American Nephrology Nurses Association during which time she directed ANNA’s response and actions related to the Advancing American Kidney Health Initiative. Dr. Kear received her undergraduate nursing degree from Gwynedd-Mercy University, an MSN from Thomas Jefferson University, and a PhD from Villanova University. Dr. Kear has 30 years of clinical experience in the care of patients with kidney disease and has received extensive grant funding for her research that is widely published. She is currently serving on Kibow Biotech's Scientific Advisory Board and the Nursing Organization Alliance Board of Directors. In 2019, Dr. Kear was inducted as a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing based upon her leadership in nephrology nursing.
