Barbara Odom BSN, RN, CDN

Barbara Odom has been a nurse for over 40 years and has specialized in acute hemodialysis for the past 14 years. Barbara is author of a chapter on acute kidney injury in ANNA's 3rd edition, and the 4th edition of Contemporary Nephrology Nursing, and she is the Acute Dialysis section editor for ANNA's 5th edition of Nephrology Nursing Certification Review Guide. She has been a member of the Manuscript Review Panel for the Nephrology Nursing Journal. Barbara has been an active ANNA member, serving in her local Hazel Taylor Chapter as secretary, president elect, and president, and nationally as the Acute Specialty Network (SPN) Leader, and Specialty Network Chair-Designate and Chair. She has also served as one of ANNA's Directors. She is passionate about educating nurses and providing the support and tools they need to become advocates for themselves, their patients, and their fellow nurses.
